J-Challenges Round 2 results reported

The results of the second round of J-Challenges are here!

Congratulations to everyone who worked so hard on your school’s entries!

This is a learning experience for everyone who entered and those of you who may use these exemplars to inspire your own students.

Our judges for the second round of Journalism challenges include a photo editor, a features writer, a graphic designer and a retired journalism educator. Between these four individuals, here are the results:

Newspaper/Newsmagazine Challenge:

  • First place: Eagle’s Life Liberty North High School “Project Based Learning” by Kendall Steinmetz, Cici Sheeks, Daniel Harper, Claire Henry
  • Second place: Eagle’s Life Liberty North High School “It’s Life” by Catherine Hemenway, Kayl Auch, Ingrid Weaver, Kari Tott

Yearbook Challenge:

  • First place: The Reflector Lee’s Summit High School “Explosive Exposure” by Britten Duet
  • Second place: Paragon Hermann High School “The Working Hour” by Kaitlin Rohlfing, Brandi Buesking, Daelynn Payne, Maddie Bader
