Thursday’s Tips No. 15

THURSDAY TIPS!

#1. A huge thank you to Jami Williams of Mexico HS. She shared this site with us and our membership to help you with selling Yearbook Advertising. http://adstobehad.weebly.com/

#2. This interactive FUNness is awesome to use in ANY class. I just learned about Kahoot! in August and have been using it with my students to review for tests, etc. Go here: https://getkahoot.com/ and you can get your kahoot account FREE, too! I tell my kids to get their phones out (and those who don’t have phones will share with those who do) and I put my kahoot up on the smartboard. They “chime in” with my game pin #, and off we go! It’s really a fun way to play and LEARN!

#3. Gordon Parks. Amazing photographer… and a true lesson in the power of Photojournalism to save a life. I use this clip often with my students to drive home the importance photography in Journalism. In less than 3 min, learn how photographs by Gordon Parks saved a young man… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xYq0M5cZBWs

KnightFoundation#4. Some food for thought from Eric Newton with the Knight Foundation. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/eric-newton/news-for-high-schools-dig_b_5838818.html
