SMOOTH MOVES: Junior Nick Nguyen moves quickly to return the ball over the net during the first home tennis match of the season on March 27. Nguyen says that his consistency while playing has improved this season. “I feel like I do need to improve on my doubles work though,” Nguyen said.

Junior Anastasia Jensen, playing Morticia, and junior Felix Reeder, playing Gomez, perform a salsa dance in the fall musical The Addams Family. The crowd burst into laughs after seeing Jenson dip Reeder at the end of the dance. This was such a fun experience, and being able to play Morticia was a dream of mine, Jensen said.

Sophomore Sydney Fuger uses her backhand during her doubles match against Park Hill South on Sept. 13, playing with partner senior Cora Skaggs. This was a nice 5-4 team win for Varsity against a strong Park Hill South team, coach Kyle Cumberland said. Last season, Fuger placed sixth at State in singles competition, and has since earned a return trip back to State again this year by winning the District singles championship.
