Thursday’s Tips No. 9

#1. Back to school! I love to use icebreakers & team builders for new staffs. Here’s quite a few to choose from: http://lc.wayne.edu/pdf/icebreakers_teambuilders.pdf Contest Header

#2. This PSA contest could help your program / school / students win needed funds: http://www.msbanet.org/awards/what-s-super-about-public-schools-student-video-contest.html

#3. I saw this shared on Twitter by Don Goble and just loved it! More of a “for teachers” post – but I can relate. Often I get “I used an iPhone on vacation for photos like you do, but yours look better?!” Or comments about my home decorating skills… It’s all in knowing good design – which applies to life 😉 http://lifehacker.com/three-basic-design-principles-everyone-can-use-in-every-1616278215?utm_content=buffera5c37&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_campaign=buffer

#4. I had a student name Johanna who just amazed me with her ability to see beyond city limits, county lines, state lines, etc at a very young age. I like to use her as an example to my students that (if you get the Reba reference) there is life out there. She was a MIPA State Journalist of the Year winner, just graduated from NYU, & is now teaching in Japan for a year… Here’s details I plan to share with my kids this year: http://yohannamayer.wordpress.com/2014/07/21/top-10-faq/
