Thursday’s Tips 4

nspaheaderlogo#1. National Scholastic Press Association. http://www.studentpress.org/nspa/ Wonderful Resources for members and nonmembers… also they have a Summer Workshop coming up in Mid-July that still has openings… http://www.studentpress.org/nspa/conventions/sws14.html

#2. Journalism Education Association. www.jea.org still has openings at their Adviser’s Institute in early July. For more details on what all is happening there… click this link: http://jea.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/ai-program-2014.pdf if you can’t attend this summer, maybe next? 🙂

#3. Energy Drinks. Are they all the rage at your school? I have seen kids say they’d never touch soda because it’s so harmful, while they chug an energy drink! (not making that up at all!) Is this a topic your school newspaper, tv show, online production, etc has dug into? If not, perhaps it is time.

#4. Need to help your video students with Public Service Announcements? Check this out! What a great tool:
Politico#5. The Sixty Second Interview. What a great concept. Could work for print and/or broadcast and/or web!
